April 8, 2013 by Admin
For over a century, the International Association of Chiefs of Police has served the professional needs of law enforcement professionals. This network of over 20,000 gives law enforcement officers a collective voice in addressing concerns specific to the law enforcement community with various regulatory agencies and legislative bodies. I’m Chief Donald DeLucca of Golden Beach, Florida, and I am asking for your vote as IACP 4th VP in 2013.
No Substitute for Relevant Experience
The person who serves as 4th Vice President of the IACP should be someone with extensive experience in all levels of law enforcement. As the former Police Chief of Miami Beach and current Police Chief of Golden Beach, I have 30 years of experience, from my current position and from the 26 years I spent working steadily up the ranks in Miami Beach. Emphasis on Continuing Education to Prepare for Future Challenges
In my capacity as chief in both Miami Beach and Golden Beach, I have always emphasized the importance of continuing education and training for all police officers. The world changes whether we want it to or not, and the skills and knowledge that effective police officers need to serve the public must be kept current. The world is not going to stagnate, and neither should law enforcement professionals.
Your IACP 4th VP Should Have a Solid Track Record
I invite you to check out my track record as a law enforcement officer over my 30-year career. Working in South Florida gave me the opportunity to develop a police force capable of addressing the year-round needs of residents as well as the unique needs of communities that draw millions of visitors every year.
