March 4, 2013 by Admin

In an age when the phones in our pockets can be used for media access 24/7, the role and perception of law enforcement receives more attention than it ever has. I am Chief Donald Delucca, Chief of the Town of Golden Beach in Miami Dade County, and I’m running for the office of 4th Vice President, International Association of Chiefs of Police. My experience and commitment make me uniquely qualified for this leadership position. (Read more about Don Delucca here)

The Role and Perception of Law Enforcement

A 24-hour news cycle, plus a population hungry for information has put law enforcement in the spotlight, sometimes positively, and sometimes negatively. Police officers today must not only hold themselves to the highest standards, they must also realize the importance of showing communities and individuals that we are on their side. With over 30 years in law enforcement, I have relevant experience and insight to offer as a leader in the IACP.

An Emphasis on Continued Training

Simply repeating “Donald Delucca IACP 2013″ isn’t sufficient to let you know the experience and philosophies I will bring to the office of 4th Vice President. My record shows a strong commitment to training, not just one time, but regularly. The world we live in changes constantly, so law enforcement cannot stagnate if it wants to be effective and meet community needs.

Technology, Crime, and Law Enforcement

The people of Golden Beach, Florida know that Chief Donald Delucca is committed to keeping up with technology, and making smart choices that not only keep the community one of the safest in Florida, but also effectively answer the needs of a location that welcomes millions of visitors each year. Understanding the role of technology in both crime and law enforcement is one of the ways I have improved police services in Golden Beach.

Leadership With Experience Is Critical

When you hear or read the phrase “Donald Delucca IACP 2013,” I want you to remember my record and my dedication as a 30-plus year law enforcement officer. As 4th Vice President, IACP, I will deliver commitment, leadership, experience, and the drive to be a credit to the trust placed in me by election to that position.
